Corbett National Park - Home of the Beasts
This is the nearest you can get to the wild beasts, after all Jim Corbett National Park is the ultimate tiger haven. This forest of meandering rivers, blue waters and sal - multihued tract of tigers and elephants is rightly called as 'the land of trumpet, roar and song'. Due to its location on the foothills of the Himalayas Corbett wildlife reserve has tremendous prospect of flora as well as fauna. The most celebrated animals that can be sighted here are elephants, tigers, leopard, sloth bear, sambar, king vulture and Python. This was the first of its kind in the country and one of the best managed tiger reserve in the sub continent. Due to its proximity from Delhi, this park is feasibly within reach. You can pay a visit to this park at any time of the year but the best time is during the month of February to April when the skies are clear and chances of animal viewing is at its most. Early morning elephant safari and evening jeep safari are the best to view tigers. Among the rich fauna of Sal and Bamboo, you can sight tigers, leopards, monkeys and barking deer. To satisfy the desire of seeing reptiles, this park has crocodiles, russels viper, cobra and monitor lizard. You cannot miss watching the avifauna as it is the world's best birding resort.
